Vintage Images (March 2015) - Early 1900s
These three photographs are a part of a triptych. They were originally taken in January of 2015 but were edited on Photoshop to mimic that of early 1900s photography. The story behind these three photographs is someone came to Canada for the first time in the month of January and discovered snow for the first time. As time went on and the photographs were passed down, the photos obtained cracks and creases. These cracks and creases give each photograph character and allow us to understand the value of the age of the photographs.

Impossible Images (April 2015) - Back from the Future & Technology vs Nature
This project was another Photoshop based assignment. The objective was to take multiple pictures and merge them together to create something surreal.
Photograph #1: the idea behind this photograph was to capture a certain moment in one time and a moment in another time. Essentially the car and the light posted have dropped from the sky and have time traveled from the 1960s. The only problem; they are still stuck in black and white.
Photograph #2: now-a-days the only way to enjoy nature is to have some sort of technology with it. As much as it is fun to say "were you even there if you didn't post a picture of it", it is also extremely sad. People today can't appreciate anything without posting it to Facebook or Instagram. So with this picture, the plant emerging from the ground also resembles wires with plugs at the end of them.

Macro Shots (May 2015) - Floral Details
Unintentionally, my three final photographs for this assignment were of flowers. I loved the way the different details of each flower in each photograph looked to the next. In the first image, the subject matter is an upside down rose with water droplets covering it. It is edited in black and white because I felt the details were brought out this way. The second photo is more of a delicate photo. It is taken of soft pink cherry blossoms. Originally, the picture washed out the pink of the flowers so I increased the hue/saturation and made the colour tones much warmer. On the contrary, for the third photo, I made the colour tones much cooler. I felt that the only way to bring out the soft, white flowers was to make the background leaves more of a blue tone.
